General dentistry that keeps your own teeth working
Before any cosmetic or surgical plan, your mouth needs to be healthy. General dentistry at Rubi Smile covers the examinations, treatments and gum care that keep natural teeth stable for the long term.

Treatments in general dentistry
Each treatment has its own page explaining who it suits, how it works, recovery and risks.
Why we start with the foundations
Untreated decay, gum inflammation or an infected tooth can undermine even the best veneers, crowns or implants. That is why every treatment plan at Rubi Smile begins with a full examination and, where needed, X-rays or a 3D scan.
If we find a problem that needs attention first, we explain it, include it in your written plan, and tell you how it affects the timing of any cosmetic work.
What general dentistry includes here
- Clinical examination and diagnosis, with X-rays or 3D imaging where needed
- Root canal treatment to save infected or badly damaged teeth
- Fillings and restorations to repair decay
- Gum contouring and gum care to support a healthy, even gum line
- Advice on cleaning and maintenance after treatment
When general treatment comes before cosmetic work
Teeth that are restored with crowns or veneers should be free of active infection, and gums should be healthy before final restorations are fitted. In some cases this adds an extra appointment to your plan; in others it can be done during the same visit. Your dentist will tell you which applies to you.
Frequently asked questions
Can I combine general treatment with cosmetic treatment in one trip?
Often, yes. Smaller treatments such as fillings can usually be done during the same visit as cosmetic work. Root canal treatment or gum treatment may need healing time before final restorations; your plan will show this clearly.
Do I need X-rays before I travel?
Recent X-rays or a panoramic image help us give you a more accurate plan in advance. If you do not have them, we take the images at the clinic during your first appointment.
Other areas of expertise
Start with a conversation, not a commitment.
Send us your questions and, if you have them, recent X-rays or photos. A dentist reviews your case and our coordinators explain the options, the likely timeline and the cost before you plan any travel.
